Cameron Highlands 8-9 October 2011

"A sea of t(horny) flora"

This is a lengthy post on my virgin visit to Cameron Highlands <3<3<3

Yes, you read it right, Virgin Visit. More precisely, with my family of 5 ~(^o*)~

Despite having lived in Kay Elle for 3-4 years (during my precious Uni days), I had never bothered to take an hour drive there. Only after the stress of corporate life strikes that we decided to do a fun weekend trip for the scenic view and "fresh" air. So, we packed our stuffs in my humble Myvi and started our journey at 6 a.m. Yours truly was the driver during 95% of the time while Bryan Lim was functioning as "live GPS", according to instinct one~ zha dao! zha dao! zha dao!

Reached desired destination 3 hours later, Tanah Rata. First thing first, looked for a place to sleep. Found a 3-star hotel, Hotel Jasmine situated on an apparently very happening town, with lots of eateries and within walking distances to a myriad of attractions. Paid RM 165 for a family suite, quite a bargain! Proceed to fill the stomach at an eating place next to OK Tuck. Picture above, they were reasoning on whether we should go back to hotel for some sleep first or hit the strawberry farm first. =.="....

This is Madam Lim. She was shivering the whole trip seriously! I thought the weather was not really chilly as they claimed and bearable but she was wrapped up in layers.

First meal, Canton Style Har Meen. Tasted just like Hokkien Mee just that the soup is clearer and less "spicy". RM 5.50 for a decent bowl. Bryan Lim loved the soup so much that he even finished my bowl and Oscar's bowl.

Commercial break, 2 ss photos. Dressed in glowing shirt the other day just in case people cannot see my car on highway, at least can see the driver "glowing" (^.^)

Done with breakfast, Bryan Lim went next door to buy nombor ekor. Oscar kept pestering him to buy 4321 but I didn't know what number he bought la. It doesn't matter because "chiak ka liao"~

Went to one of the many many many Strawberry Farms but didn't take photo, hand was holding packets of strawberries selling at RM 4 per box. Big fresh, juicy strawberries, munching on them really makes me Smurfing Happie!~! Picture here above was at Bee Farm. Very crowded with tour buses and sadly, not as interesting as I thought.

See bee hives only lor. Buy honey lor. Let mosquito bite lor.  Eh, don't think cold places no mosquito wey, really got one, hit a few some more.

"Queen Bee says hi!"

Mum bought few bottles of honey and some sweets made from honey la (whatelse~)

Drove to this place kononnya served very d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s food but unfortunately we were too early and it was not open yet :( Went to another strawberry farm to have freshly made strawberry crepes, DAMN GOOD this one but no photo to do the justification. Malang sial some photos MIA during transferring to laptop proces @#$%^#!!!

To much walking, stomach growled like nobody business! Back to this place right opposite our hotel for lunch. If my memory doesn't play tricks, it's called "You Mun", serves typical Chinese dishes.

Ordered "Fried Squid". Crispy & very "phang"! *full marks awarded*

Fried eggs with mushroom, very nicely done but portion too small.

"Bai Guat Wong" for daddy.

"Curry Fish Head" Thought order something hot & spicy but this one failed terribly! Not HOT, not SPICY and most importantly, CURRY FISH HEAD NO FISH HEAD ONE!!! THEN WHY CALL CURRY FISH HEAD!!! Just chunky pieces of fish meat. *disappointed*

Paid RM 85 for a meal of 5.

HOHOHO! Mini pots of cactus selling at 6 for RM 10. Bought 12 pots. They are now residing peacefully in my room (^_^)

These are the bigger ones. Can buy also cannot bring back la. Plus my mum said, "so lan chor teng~"

Distinctive shapes and sizes. Lu mau apa pattern pun ada~ Seen here in the picture, Mickey Mouse also got.

It started to drizzle thus we went back to hotel for a nap. Nice chilly weather <3<3<3

Our "nap" lasted for 3 hours =.="..... Woke up feeling super energetic to go out again but the rain just went heavier. Hence, we went back to the same restaurant that we had our lunch to have steamboat. Bigger disappointment awaited us *sigh*

This is a stove (=.^) Food was not worth mentioning and certainly not worth the value at all! RM 20 bucks per person, sort of like standard head count price for all the steamboat restaurants there. Cheap, but I'll never go back again <:

I just wanna show you my girly MNG turtle-neck top (:

My cutie bum: Oscar.

After the not-so-fulfilling meal, we combated the rain and headed to pasar malam to eat street food. Fried mushroom was really, really a divine snack trust me especially on a weather and temperature like that. Mum bought hell loads of oddly looking fruits and tonnes of corns. Very cheap ma!~

Fast forward to the next day, time to balik.. Had our "last meal" at CH.

Nasi lemak, RM 5.50.

On our way home, we stopped by several places like Tea Farm and this Chocolate place below to get souvenirs for friends and colleagues.

Overall, we enjoyed this trip and each other company. Not too much on the "relaxation" part due to time constraint but it's the bonding among us that matters. <3<3<3

Will definitely come back again in the near future! (^.^)
