Sushi, Tomyum & more!

Time to jump in the bandwagon & post (mouth-watering) food photos like everyone else. The above, obviously a sandwich; egg sandwich to be precise was taken at Times Square, restaurant name I've forgotten. Went there for a quick fix of lunch with Victor cause he had a meeting there. Egg sandwich was not bad, just the bread kind of burnt. So, worth trying & of course a healthy option if you are taking it as breakfast.

Traditional nasi lemak, wrapped in banana leaves. Victor & I were on our way to watch a drift event at Kampung Gajah & stopped by a rest area to have breakfast. What I like about this nasi lemak is that the rice is exceptionally fragrant with coconut milk a.k.a santan.

Read about my previous post if you wanna know more about this tomyum that I had in Danok, Thailand. If I'm not wrong, the restaurant is called Waterview (and not Seaview like I said previously) Exceptionally, undeniably & seafoodly-good. I can drool teruk2 just by staring at this photo. The tomyum soup alone can go well with white rice.

And best of all, it's cheap! Cheaper than what you can possibly have in Malaysia!

Dear bf, when can we go back for more?

Now, this is something worth sharing. Last week, we (Victor, Me, Allen, Janice & Jeffrey) went to this Koi Sushi, located at 2nd floor, Gurney Plaza (new wing) for a sushi buffet. At just RM 28.00 ++, we get to enjoy 40 varieties of mostly rice-based sushi. We reached there about 6.00 pm and the place was already packed. Luckily we had made reservation in advance & were seated immediately upon arrival.

So, we were given order chits and were allowed to order 10 varieties of sushi each time, unlimited quantity. So, for example if you like salmon maki you can order 20 pieces in one shot. At first, food serving was slow. I was already upset as I've been starving whole day (not intended) for this and they kept refilling our green tea only. Therefore, I sat there, showed black face & I think they sort of like "get it". When the food finally came, we (or I) wasted no time to stuff ourselves. Salmon sushi was okay , just that the salmon slices slightly thinner than usual (expected already pun)

We were very smart. We waste no time in ordering one. The moment our first order came, we placed our 2nd order already. And by the time the 3rd came, we placed in 4th order already. And I very smart also, I ordered miso soup for everyone. And another dish best served hot, something like duck pizza, crispy for a while cause the air cond was at max temperature hence the food turned cold so fast. Overall, worth a try for RM 28.00. Just one complaint, the rice was too thick. So, you kind of get full easily. But, being my old persevere self (in the art of eating only), I makan and makan and makan until I can't breath.

Then I stopped. And they stopped. But there were still sushi on the table.

We were fined RM 10.00 for leftover food. Still worth it la!

Let me present to you, my most favorite mushroom soup in the world (subject to changes), very thick with chunky pieces of real mushroom. This was at Mizi Bistro, located at Tesco, Tanjung Pinang. For RM 25.00 per pax, you get to choose an appetizer, a main dish, a drink & unlimited free refills of ice cream.

Free ice cream? Unlimited? *gulps*

Served with bread & butter.

If you have been to Mizi before, you will know that they serve food in very huge portion. Above, my Monte Carlo fish, I'm like always order the same thing because it's really good, just trust me.

This was Victor's main dish, named "Surf & Turf", a combination of fish & prawns cooked in (tomato sauce?) This dish is charged an additional RM 10.00 because it's under chef specialties.

Last but not least, ice cream!!! Victor had at least 5 servings! At least!

Writing this post makes me hungry, and just realize that I haven't take my dinner.

Ok, bai!

More on Apple Liew

Ladies & gentlemen, this I present to you, my most lovable & intelligent pup, Apple Liew who is now bald because according to the experts, the new fur that grows out will be softer and nicer. Like real baby, at don't know what age they have to shave bald also right. Same theory. Anyway, I think Apple is a very "ai mei" pup. She sort of like got emo a little after the shave and became naughtier / more rebellious, like purposely do the stuffs that we forbid her to do (bite socks, play with her food, etc)

So in order to help her regain her confidence, *I now proclaimed myself a dog expert*, I practically tell everyone to say, "Apple mei mei" (which means Apple is beautiful) whenever they see her. I think this method works very well lor, she now becomes her old self, very hyperactive, very kay-poh-chee which is good.

This was her with fur. Oh dew I think as I'm writing this in Victor's office, she just ate a dead dragonfly on the floor. No joke. Oh shyte man, will die of food poisoning or not.

She looks so pity & skinny & tiny now, like a Chicken Little. I bought her a shirt just in case she feels cold without her protective layer of fur now. She has been good in the car so far but the other day, she poo poo in Victor's car hahaha emergency case which is both funny and disgusting.

Continue on another day, time to play with Apple now.

Danok, Thailand - 5 August 2012

Yippie~ Get to blog tonight using my bf's Mac cause he's spending the night at my place. And Apple is here too, dozing off in her comfy "nest" right next to where I'm sitting now. 4 days holiday is really a bliss! <3 i="i">

Anyway, I wanna write about my Danok trip with my buddies, a couple of weeks ago. We were actually at UUM for a few rounds of kart ride and then decided to cross over border to Danok, Thailand for dinner. Fyi, the distance from UUM, Kedah -> Danok is like 15 mins drive and a friend of us, Marcus knows this place very well since he's a frequent traveller to all the fancy clubs and dining places over there. So, we drove over to the border terminal, parked our cars and took a ride in their taxi because out of 7 of us, 1 of us didn't have a passport. And the taxi driver, somehow with "a small fee" was able to bring my friend to cross border without hassle. Me, being the sua pak kau was very kan cheong and excited because:

1: It was my 1st trip to Danok;
2: Very scared lor, what if they tahan us because our friend didn't have a passport and our faces all looked like orang tahanan *think too much but got possible also okay*;
3: Like I said, very excited lor, when checking passport time, right leg already in Thailand, left leg still at Malaysia.

The first thing we did (or I did) was to act like a tourist. "Wah~ their shophouses like our Butterworth area let", "See see see, Mc D Mc D", "Eh, 7-11 also got" *kept on pulling my bf's sleeves and repeated the above phrases until he showed me the dulan face and meh-ly replied "huh huh huh". So cold lah him, no expression one.

Then, our dear Marcus, with his very little comprehension of Thai language and loads of sign language managed to tell the lorry driver to drive us to this dining place near the seaside or lake side, I think the name is Seaview or something. Highly recommended by Marcus because the portion is huge and delicious and most importantly, sipek cheap. Photos later to justify his claim.

7 of us in the lorry, that's Uncle Juice playing with his phone. The restaurant was located not really far from the city but it's not within walking distance as well la. The ride took about 20 minutes due to the poor condition of the road, very bumpy and all along we saw motorcyclist without helmets one. Very daring lor somomore like no law one.

Beautiful view of the place. The concept is like a few houses surrounding the lake then they will cook at one of the houses and deliver your food to your "house" in a boat. How cool is that!

We sat at the last corner or the last "atap house" because even though it was only 6pm, the place was already packed with most tourists, like us and also the locals. Without further hesitation, we "assigned" our "tour guide", Marcus to order food cause we were hungry like wolfs, like real hungry wolfs okay! And Marcus, again with sign language pointed to a few dishes in the menu. So, let's go through the photo to see how good, and I mean how really good the food were.

In Thai restaurant, sure must order tomyum. We ordered this seafood tomyum, generous amount of ingredients, right level of spicyness and smell so good to make your nostrils "lao pi cui"! First taste of the soup, Ohh My Fucking God, beyond heaven man! Makes you go Oooommmppphhh..... Btw, I've learnt a new Thai phrase too. If you want your tomyum to be less spicy / hot, you tell them "mae pit lam pa"

Repeat after me, "Mae pit lam pa"

"Mae pit lam pa, mae pit lam pa, mae pit lam pa"

(In Hokkien, it means "Don't break my balls" Mae pit = don't break, lam pa = balls, manly balls okay"

Hahahahahahahaha! I find this phrase so lame and funny that the moment I came home, I immediately  tell my family and practically everyone I met after that.

Okay, enough of lam pa.

We had this chicken in tomato gravy and omelette as well. Omelette was just ok, typical dish you have everywhere but the thing is, they have taugeh inside so maybe that's what makes it special. Chicken in tomato gravy also not so bad but too much vegetables that I don't eat hehe There were also a dish of fish & pork knuckles but no photos because too hungry liao, already mum mum cannot stop to take photos. Our dinner that night was only RM 170 + with unlimited rice refill & sugar cane drinks refill, which sums up to about 25 bucks per person. So worth it man! Should bring my family over here one weekend.

The lorry dropped us back to the city and it was time to explore the night life of Thailand. Since the border gate closes at 12am, we had at least 5 hours to kill. We walked a few streets and like sua huan spent 20 minutes in 7-11 to see what they have there and wondered why things are much cheaper. Blah blah blah walked some more until Marcus suggested that we went to this famous (or infamous to some due to explicit reason) club in the city, called YES CLUB!

YES la! Let's go to YES club la!

Warning: Some of the pictures below are not suitable for those below 18. But this warning no point one la, I warn liao make you more curious only right. Zh'ng lan right?

We walked in, they showed us backsides, so I show you backsides lo. Bf said since prostitution is legal in Thai, this kind of sight is very common. Gals in bikinis lining up on stage, parading like model. See the lady with flower garlands? Alright, if the patrons like any of the gal on stage, he/she but most probably he can buy a garland and hang it on the gal's neck, then the gal "belongs to his table" that night, you know serving drinks, joke a bit, massage a bit, got extra service or not I don't know and too paiseh to ask also.

Closer look. One thing I must say, Marcus really a VIP there. He walked in, we sat at his usual table and ordered 10 bottles of Tiger at only RM 200. With free snacks and fruits some more. Mamasan some more walked over to say hi. This fella damn tua liap! Like a boss! You know ar, my bf ar kept looking at the guys and kesi-kesi say, "not nice one, so small only, that one looks like guy, blah blah* endless criticism but I know deep inside he buey tahan already one kekeke~ Okla, next time I give you permission to go without me okay... but use protection okay wtf  *act generous gf*

And if you think they only have some low grade performance over there, then you are 101% wrong! Cause their performances are like concerts okay! Like those we pay big bucks to watch one okay! Glittering costumes, songs in every possible language you can understand and dance moves that leave you in awe. They mimicked real life artiste like we have above here some imitation of Thai singers.

And here, we have Thadele (Thai version of Adele), with very powerful voice "Never mind I'll find someone like youuuuuu"

And now, Thai version of Jacky Cheung & I-don't-know-the-name-of-that -HK-female-singer, side-by-side dueting "wo yao song ni hong sek mei gui~

I guarantee you, if YES were to open in Malaysia, Zouk can close shop. Soju can go fuck themselves. ROOM lagi no need to say. Too bad all my friends had to work the next day so we couldn't stay any longer.

But before we left, we didn't miss the chance to tapau pork burger from Mc D. It was so yummeh that Mr Bf finished his burger and took half of mine too =.......=

Thank you guys for this wonderful day! - Victor, Melina, Justin, Allen, Janice and last but not least, our beloved tour guide Marcus.

When shall we go again? :D

A day in puppy's shoe

Ahhh sien dao.. don't get to see Apple tonight cause she's at bf's house and I'm too exhausted to drive over and hug-hug her *lousy mummy* But it's okay *console self* cause I'll be picking her up after work tomorrow and go ban leng-leng ^.* Found out timely from a friend that Chew Thean Yeang (Google la if don't know where it is) offers grooming services for pets too; like trim fur, cut nails, korek pi sai & other cleaning stuffs that I'm too kan cheong to do to Apple myself.

So hoi sam! ^.^ So hoi sam on behalf of Apple. You see la, where got mummy so good one. Actually I did scold her yesterday. Not purposely one la, too mang chang already ma! Feeling so guilty after that cause she's still a baby and it's not her mistake or anything. Some more it was her 3rd month birthday *slap sendiri* Like I mentioned in FB, I wanted to take her to grooming yesterday but couldn't find the place. And it was rush hour leh, I was stuck in a jam for an hour leh and she kept sitting beside jilat-jilat me, bite my cushion then jumped over to driver's side. So I yelled at her lor and I think she get the point one lor, after that she terus sit diam-diam & enjoyed "chui air-cond"

Too much light & exposure but main point is how not to sayang her, so ke ai ^.^ The tongue lick-lick your toe time very ticklish but also enjoy de leh

This is do yoga pose. We always enjoy looking at her stretching her body, then the tail shake left right, very relax like that, looks like malas pup

Bei ma liao.. so sit guai guai cui air-cond and enjoy the jam LoL LoL LoL Usually when I take photo of her, she sure move around one and let me have lousy pic as if my hand old liao shaky wtf But yesterday, I scolded her betul-betul one, guess she really takut a bit so sit diam-diam. Luckily went home time bo lau green shyte ;-x

Reached home terus explore my room like nobody business lo this fella lick almost everything, bite my tuala and ran around the house. I ignored her and later walked out like a boss and kacau my mum instead =.=

Mum's growing fond of her cause really one, although mischievous & hyperactive & very luan at times, she's actually hou adorable & "tai siek" geh ^.^

Last photo of my bao bei oink oink on the pillow that my mum gave her. She very zh'ng lan, bought her a bed but she doesn't want to sleep in it. Mummy says maybe the floor is cooler hence more comfortable.

Ok, habis cerita. Goodnight!

My new friend, Apple Liew

Hello people!~ Haven't blogged in a very very very long time! Had been busy with work and baby-sitting my bf wtf Hehe~ I mean now that bf has his own business and work his arse off 24/7, of course I have to be a good gf to layan him ma. What kind of layan depends on your imagination la ya but don't think too much ar! ^_^

Anyway, in this post right, I'll like to introduce my new baby to all of you!

Hie!~ I'm Apple Liew! ^.^

She's a 2-month old poodle, born on 15 May 2012 but bf brought her home on 7 August 2012, as a surprise for me! Initially very surprise lor coz didn't know where to shelter her (My youngest bro has a history of asthmatic issue so cannot keep at home) and she was very fragile! Then we kept her a night at bf's place and I spoke to bf about bringing her back to the pet shop coz we simply don't have extra time to feed, bath, and potty-train her. But miracles are always there I suppose! Bf's mum agreed to keep her and she has been doing a very great job for a week, feeding her, bathing her and giving her tuition wtf

Haha!~ Let me explain. Bf's mum is a home tuition teacher. So each time she has to work, she'll tie Apple under the table and Apple will sit quietly until she finished her class. See, my pup is a genius and very obedient haha

Like my new little friend on her FB page here

See you soon! ^.^

FLLYYYY DAYYYY

Yoohoo!~!~! It's friday, friday, FRIDAYYYYYYYYYYYY, the most awaited day of the week for me cause weekend starts NOW!

Just a little recap of last night, it was HEROES marathon again but tiredness crept in and only managed to finish 2-3 episodes. Way to go. Mum made "chye boey" for dinner and she tapau-ed some for soul mate as he loves "chye boey" (but apparently he only loves the one at the chicken rice stall near our house)

On the way home, soul mate tapau-ed a sub of the day (teriyaki chicken) for both of us to share, with green pepper, lettuce, mayo & thousand island sauce, just the way we love it to be <3

Anyway, to cut a long story short, we were rudely awaken by a loud noise this morning, from the rooftop! I bravely (must emphasize one more time, BRAVELY) walked over to every corner of the house and checked because previously, a thief entered my neighbor's house through the rooftop as well. Found no sign of break-in or attempted break-in. Thank God.

And today, my colleagues told me that a security guard from the neighbouring bank misfire the senapang and it hit the glass door. Funny it may seem for such carelessness to occur but luckily no1 was hurt during the incident.

Ohya, there's this new nickname I got for soul mate that I must share, he's now officially the buzzer man. He was naked (only the top) and the sight of his (huge) nen nen made me laughed till  I wanna shyte cause they remind me of buzzer, ya'know the kind of button people press in a game show, REALLY! If I have the chance, I'll show you guys a picture. Meanwhile, just hope that he won't be reading this cause he'll be so so so mad if I make fun of his "assets".

I wanted to write much more stuffs but I have to go now, cause the night is still young.

I'll end this with a couple of pics I took this afternoon when I went home during lunch time:

Over-edit, damn creepy >.<

Bai bai! xoxo

JUST NOT MY KIND OF DAY

Had a rough day at work, not because of hectic workload or what but business was so slow that you can finger count the walk-in customers. Spent whole day clearing up the pending jobs and counting hour. Sales volume is extremely low as at to date, boss has been chasing for credit cards, merchant sales and opening of new accounts. Damn, doing sales is just so not my forte. Couple with the daily operation stuffs (during normal banking hours), where got time to do sales? I’m serious, from cash monitoring and handling to cheques clearing, that’s a lot of tedious work to do, you know? Plus it’s not really easy you know, you have to be really meticulous. I attended a training on operation last month and I remember the trainer said;

“Guys, if I were to be in your shoe, I’d tell those people up there, LEAVE THE SALES STUFF TO THE SALES STAFF”

My strong point is in operation & paper stuff but doing sales….erm…..

I can’t really talk well or persuade people to get a product unless I’ve bought & used them myself. Someone once told me, if you can’t CONVINCE him or her, you can CON him or her. Wtf..

Anyway, had Hokkien Mee for supper last night, had been craving for it since whole day! Bought one for myself and one for soul mate. Spent the next 1-hour or so watching HEROES. Later, soul mate has to leave for work so I spent the rest of the night staring at the ceiling until I dozed off.

Hope tomorrow will be a better day! Ta!

Mizi Bistro, Tesco Tanjung Pinang

Yay!~!~! I'm staying home tonight! <3 I'm actually feeling kind of exhausted cause I've been going out a lot lately, couple with stress at work *depression* So, it's truly a luxury to be able to just lepak at home once in a while <3
Last night, my soul mate & I went to this place called Mizi Bistro, for dinner. I first knew about this place a couple of months ago when my friend brought me there. I was erm... in a low period, and this fella brought me that because they provide unlimited ice-cream. I mean seriously unlimited flow, free refills! Went there again a couple of times with my family because for once, the food is really good (to my standard la) and it's really value for money (RM 25 for appetizer, a main course, a drink & free flow of ice cream).

So yesterday, without telling me before hand that we were going over, my soul mate just drove me there and I was like urrgghh wtf cause I JUST HAD MY DINNER 2 HOURS AGO. But nevermind lah, I love the food so I just ordered the set meal like usual.

Appetizer: Mushroom soup with bread.

If you know me well enough, you will know that I'm a die-hard fan of mushroom soup and this is REALLY GOOD. Very thick, very broth-ly, creamy and just nice man! I tried making my own soup at home and nothing taste heavenly like this bowl above!

Drink: Peach tea

There is a wide selections of drinks that comes with this set meal but I usually order peach tea. Mild and cooling.

Main course # 1 - Chicken Maryland

Soul mate ordered this and at first thought, I was like, "Why no vege one?" Ended up the rounded fried stuff is vege inside. Fried brocolli, fried corn & fried carrot (I think, couldn't remember) Soul mate ate like a 3-year old, he's chicken-addict, and if it's deep fried like this, even better!

Main course # 2 - Monte Carlo Fish

If I eat out, I'll normally order fish / seafood dishes cause my mum usually cooks poultry stuff at home, so I have had enough of chicken and eggs. This dish above, extraordinary-ly yummy! Very cheesy, everything just cooked to perfection! I was really full but still I finished all of it. Satisfaction level, MAX!

As a result of eating too much, I've a hard time going to bed last night. But what to do, food was divine, if no eat very "guilty" ler hehehe

Alright, time to go. I should be sleeping already cause my muscle is aching my my gum is like bengkak pain too T___________T

Period habis, pimples also gone, hohoho!

Goodnight <3!

Another day, another dawn

Wake up super early today, couldn't sleep really well cuz feeling stuffy with all the food I took last night. Spent the past 10-15 minutes or so on FB and replying some messages. Wish I could skip work, mundane work *sigh* I'll announce today as Meatless Tuesday, gonna survive on carrot, tomato & cucumber for a day. Seriously, the heat from all the exposure last Sunday is really sickening..making me feeling restless and... unwell.

Nothing much happens lately..I'll just share a few pictures in my iphone, some are downloads, some whatsapp by friends and some sendiri take one.

Attended grandma's birthday last month (or was it the month b4 last?) She's already 84 but still as strong as a erm.... how an old lady suppose to be wtf I mean she can walk perfectly fine and everything but she could not longer eat KFC, no more teeth to chew.

Random supper that I had the other day at Kim Gary, 1st Avenue. Not a big fan of Hong Kong food, sorta like mix fusion, nothing special or delightful.

Pikachu that Vic got me the other day. It lights up and floats in the water. Super cute! Mum mistakenly call it Pukichu =_______________=

Introducing Bobby, belongs to a friend in KL. He whatsapp me this the other day when I told him I'm afraid of anything furry and with 4 legs wtf

Got my hand painted at a chocolate fair in Queensbay last week. My friends said it's lame. Actually, I know it is haha

I have to go. Late for work already. Spend too much time uploading photos ohh eemm gee why la why internet so slloooowwwwww.............

Seize the day people!

SPRING AKARI FESTIVAL - DRIVE4CHARITY 10 MARCH 2012

A fortnight ago, the Spring Akari Festival was held in Strait Quay to serve as a memorial for the tsunami & earthquake that deeply impacted Japan and generally everyone around the world, early last year. It was also meant to celebrate life and the rebuild of Japan as a strong nation in a span of a year.

There were a lot of activities lining up for all the visitors during the 3-day event such as,

1) Exhibiton, mostly stories and pictures on how restoration of Japan was being carried out. Touching photos, inspiring as well.

2) Well-wishes corner. Visitors were encouraged to write words of encouragement on little piece of paper provided to show their support for Japan.

Like this one. These little notes were tied on a string so that everyone can read it.

3) Japanese food sampling. There were a few stalls preparing bizarre Japanese food on the spot for the visitors to try. Didn't manage to take a closer picture as the crowd was kinda big during free food sampling.

Centre stage where the emcee made announcements and there were supposed to be performances I guess but throughout the time I was there, there was none =(

4) Drive4charity event. Actually, this was the main reason I was there; to support Victor and his friends in playing their part for charitable cause. Visitors may take a ride in one of the following cars as seen in the above poster for only RM 10. Seen in the picture above is Nigel, the proud owner of blue Nissan Skyline.

Look at those sexy rides *drools*

One of favourite my fav cars, Mazda Miata MX5. Very tiny & girly kind of car. It reminds me of Pollypocket stuffs. Victor took me for a ride in it.

Top view.

Starwars came to support too wtf

The day ended with my most favorite-iest "tit pan mee" for dinner.

Night all!
