3Fs' for Henry

I have a friend, whom I have personally known for a year (he was a student here actually) but we never got the chance to talk much until recently. And this post, I'm going to share it with him, some values and philosophies which I uphold all my life and hope that he will be able to do the same and live life to the fullest.

The 3Fs' Theory

FAITH. Have faith in God. Believe that miracle exist, couple with the right attitude and perseverance to succeed. Hold on to something / someone that you look up to; ie: some achievements that you are able to visualize it and motivate you to strive harder. Faith alone is a strong driving force for millions around the world. Every morning, tell yourself that today gonna be awesome! Gonna be productive! And simply got to be great! Amidst all difficulties, believe in yourself, your own innate abilities and remember, having faith will pull you through and miraculously transform every negative vibes into positive energy; the synergy you need to succeed. Learn that dreams can come true if we keep believing in them and put our thoughts into actions.

FAILURE. Failure itself is the most powerful stand-alone vocabulary. Extremely powerful to the extent that may deny it or succumb to it. Admit failures my friend. Accept it. It is a part and parcel of life. Learn how to deal with it, whether alone or with the help of people, like us, your friends. after all, failure is a very subjective term to each of us. Eg: Person A, who has done well academically all his life may not performed well compared to Person B, who has done a fair share of years in school but diligently master the necessary skills to excel in work. From the eye of the majority of the society, Person A may be what they deem the perfect scholar; the cream of the crop. Yet, a significant clutter of the world may perceive Person B as the driving force in the workplace and the country. I recalled watching a documentary where Bill Gates shared his personal experiences. He has a friend, who did so well in school while Bill struggled to cope with homeworks throughout his years in school. But today, like how scholars usually end up in prominent choice of careers, his friend is now a senior engineer in Microsoft but Bill owns Microsoft. You get the point? Now that you have a kick start in a career that you might possibly be doing for decades to come, don't flunk it. Utilize it. Maximize the flexibility that comes with it.

FRIENDS. People whom you know and people who know you. People from all walks of life. Due to the myriad definitions of it, there are the good guys and rotten eggs as well. Whom do you call friends? That's the million dollar question. People who encourage & motivate you or people who befriended you simply for your status? You are matured enough to be able to differentiate between friends whom you can have faith it or fake friends whom you shall stay from or just remain as acquaintances.

Here, allow me to share a song with you:

I hope you get across the message that I'm trying to convey. We, your friends are here to guide you & to help you grow. Remember, be a man of value rather than a man of success. At the end of the day, success is not measured byhow rich you are or how many cars you own. Instead, think of how many little obstacles that you have overcome throughout your life, aren't they success? Think of how many life you have inspired. And be grateful for what you have right now.

I do not have a picture of us together so using this picture to remind you that you are not alone(:

A story to tell

Dear Big Bear,

Sadly tonight, we almost fight again. Argue will be a better word I presume. Considering the little time, space & opportunity we have meeting each other virtually, it bothers me with the fact that our conversation almost always ended not so happily. I'm asking myself lately, are we somehow taking each other for granted? Are we up to face all the challenges that LDR in-store for us?

It's at the time like this, when the night falls that I have the right "feel" to pen down my thoughts, to tell you how I really feel, the share the emotional trauma that this relationship is bringing into my life and yours. Almost every silent night, by admiring the beauty of million stars in the sky, I shed tears only to be interrupted with the buzzing sound of insects from the park nearby.

in this little corner...

My mind is a mess right now, thank God my life isn't, well...at least not yet! I've so much things, all these confusions and doubts in here that I don't know where to start. Guess I'm at a juncture where I'm being bombarded with so many decision making to do. This is a point in life, the time of the year where I and probably most of the people out there will sit down and evaluate almost every aspects of life. You got to think of your job, career, family, relationship and everything. And every decision you make whether you realize it or not, something or someone is at stake. There's a huge risk factor in it. I admit, yours truly are not capable in handling to much risk. Sometimes, I would rather take the less adventurous path just so that everyone will be safe and sound, everyone will be happy. The key here is stability & security, not only financially but also in a relationship, especially LDR. Trust...yea...I guess trust is all that matters.

It reads: This is Joy Lim Chen Lin's education fund. Alternatively, it can be a retirement fund(:

Thinking back, it has been almost 2 years we dated each other. We had a fair share of laughters and tears. From the start barely 3 months we committed into the relationship, we were being separated, hence started our LDR. Being together and separated, together again and the next minute kissing each other goodbye at the airport, my heart bleeds thinking of all these separations which almost killed us. "I Love You Forever", that's what you have been telling me but who are we to define forever?

forever?

I know deep down inside you are dying to keep this critical relationship alive. But something is obviously wrong when you told me that we do not seem to share any common topics anymore. I couldn't agree more. Are we driven apart by the strains of this LDR that we finally feel the pinch? Does this fate fall upon every couple? You console me by saying that this kind of situation doesn't happen when we are together, I'm partially convinced.

Sayang,

Please understand that I'm trying to the very best of my ability and effort to be with you. There are things that I cannot share publicly yet at the same time I couldn't bring myself to telling you things which are not certain.

Give me time, I need more, more & more time.

I dedicate this song to you, I Love You Sayang.

Goodnight...

Taiwan it is!

I'm back (after so so so long of playing MIA) and here it is, a quick update on my recent trip to Taiwan. Well not exactly an extremely fun one but definitely memorable the least (: And after a much needed rest, I will now summarize my trip with some classic pictures (=

Here's a group picture before we departed.

At Penang International Airport

Some random in-flight photo

I don't usually favor in-flight meals but this is the one you definitely should not miss when traveling! A complete meal of chicken pasta with dessert, fruits, drinks and everything. Fly with Cathay Pacific, definitely worth every cent!

By the time I open the lid my stomach growled so loud that I didn't have time for pictures xD

The flight to Hong Kong took approximately 3.5 hours and from there we transit flight for about 2 hours to reach Taiwan. After 5 hours of "comfort flight", here comes the nightmare. We had to travel by land (in a bus actually hahaha) to the respective institute which situated at san-kah-la area and the bumpy ride went on for 5 hours. Yup, that's like from Penang to KL and back to Penang again.

So basically for the whole duration of 10 days, we attended some classes (me accompanying those monkeys while at times sneaked back to the dorm for a nap), went to a few 'notable' pasar malam, bought some not-so-needed stuffs which still make my heart aches thinking back why I bought them. On impulse. It's something I couldn't help it!

That's Philip & Heng Yi, with our "mu gua niu nai" =D

Ohya, some boring pictures of them in the class and (pretending to pay attention) =_______________=

Kenny & Zoey, here's the proof of you guys sleeping..xD

Watching some not-so-awesome drift videos, my babe can definitely perform a much better job!

Btw, the best part of all, is of course the food. Even the dorm meals tasted better than our very own College meal. Prove me wrong ;p

A 6/7/8 course meal for the five of us. Nevertheless, we finished everything and for once I actually thought I'm a big eater =D

Blurry Zoey

More group pictures to come, taken at the main entrance of the institute. Note that I'm using the phrase "the institute" to replace the exact name cause I couldn't recalled :(

That's for now! Hopefully I'll have the mood to post regular updates pms lately what to do. And here you go, 2 of my ss photos to keep you company till I see you again! (=

My new dress bought at the pasar malam for 250 yuan only!

Bai bai!
